… as a nationwide professional organization. Its creation was the result of the growing demand for qualified translation and interpreting services.

At present the BDÜ is the largest federal association of its branch in Germany. One of the BDÜ’s major tasks consists in regulating the exercise of profession and define quality standards. Furthermore, the BDÜ has become an important platform for the networking, qualification and representation of its more than 7,500 members.
