… the Cervantes-Institute in Berlin is inviting to its Open Day and Summer Festival on the 18th Juni 2016.
On this year’s “Spanish Language Day”, several highlights will familiarize Hispanophiles with the “Español” and the Spanish and Latin-American cultures:
- a Spanish-language theatrical performance on occasion of the 400th anniversary of Miguel de Cervantes’ death
- Taster Spanish classes for children
- a Salsa dancing class
- Open day in the Cervantes Institute’s library “Mario Vargas Llosa”
The purpose of the Spanish Language Day consists in promoting and further spreading the Spanish language and the related cultures.
It also aims at uniting Spanish speakers living in 20 different countries on three continents and at paying tribute to the significance of their language. After all, Spanish ranks already among the most important universal languages spoken by 500 million speakers!
By the way, there is a second date on which the Spanish Language is celebrated. It’s the United Nation’s Spanish Language Day on 12th October.
